ComXo in Bloom: 15 Years with the Royal Windsor Flower Show

"This is the 15th year ComXo has been the principal sponsor of The Royal Windsor Flower Show.To have been part of the journey as it has grown in quality and stature has been an extraordinary experience. To receive His Majesty's Patronage last year was wonderful, but to welcome him as a visitor on Saturday was the stuff of dreams."
Andrew Try, Managing Director, ComXo

Every summer, tucked away in the historic grounds of Windsor Great Park, the Royal Windsor Flower Show quietly weaves together tradition, community, and creativity. It's not the largest show on the calendar, but that’s precisely what makes it special, a charming, curated celebration of gardening, heritage, and local pride.

This year, the event was opened by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh and shortly after welcomed His Majesty King Charles III, who toured the vibrant displays and spent time with guests and exhibitors. Alan Titchmarsh returned to present the competition prizes, with his trademark warmth, and the day was filled with garden talks, live music, floral art, and, naturally, tea and cake.

At the heart of it all stood The King’s Garden, a living tribute to the monarch’s lifelong commitment to nature and conservation. Sponsored by ComXo and designed by Chelsea Flower Show veterans Alan Williams and Mark Gregory, the garden was built using sustainable materials, rewilding principles, and clever water usage, not just a beautiful centrepiece, but a statement on how gardening can tread lightly on the Earth.

A Partnership That Grows with Purpose

ComXo’s role as principal sponsor isn’t just a logo on a brochure, it’s a 15-year relationship grounded in shared values: excellence, local connection, and long-term thinking. Under the Chairmanship of ComXo Founder Andrew Try, our business has helped the show evolve while staying true to its roots.

That support has quietly extended beyond the marquees. Over the years, funds raised have supported gardening projects in schools, local outreach, and even training programmes for young people affected by homelessness. It’s the kind of impact that doesn't shout, but grows steadily, like a well-loved perennial.

Windsor Roots, Wider Reach

ComXo’s headquarters sit just a short walk from the Great Park. Many of the team live locally. Some volunteer at the show. It’s personal. The company, which provides bespoke outsourced workplace services for some of the UK’s leading organisations, sees the event as a chance to help something meaningful bloom in its own backyard.

This year’s visit by King Charles marked a new chapter, not just for the show, but for everyone involved. His unannounced presence, enthusiasm in the exhibits, and conversation with attendees young and old was a huge honour on the shows and its numerous volunteers and one on that will be remembered for years.

What’s Next?

Like any good garden, the Royal Windsor Flower Show keeps evolving. And so does ComXo’s commitment. Whether it’s supporting sustainable design, enabling access to green spaces, or simply helping create a day where people feel inspired and connected, this partnership is proof that business and community can grow beautifully side by side.

Powering the Future, Rooted in Our Values

ComXo's Strategic Investment in Renewable Energy

At ComXo, our commitment to responsible business practices and technological advancement is paramount. As a privately held organisation, we possess the agility to strategically invest in initiatives that align with our core values. Today, we are pleased to announce a significant project that underscores both our dedication to environmental stewardship and our pursuit of innovation.

Following three years of meticulous planning, ComXo is commencing the installation of a substantial solar farm in Windsor. This initiative represents a considerable investment , championed by our founder, Andrew Try, whose conviction in the importance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and future-oriented innovation drives our strategic direction.

The initial phase of this significant undertaking started in early May with essential ground clearing operations. These activities will be conducted with stringent environmental protocols to ensure the preservation of the local ecosystem, including the protection of mature trees on the site. Our commitment to minimising ecological impact extends to the construction methods employed, such as using screw pile foundations in lieu of conventional concrete structures, thereby reducing our carbon footprint during the installation phase.

The installation process, anticipated to span four weeks, will be overseen by a dedicated project manager to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to timelines. Upon completion, the solar farm will comprise 130 high-performance photovoltaic panels. This system will offset 14.28 tonnes of CO₂ annually and has the capability to supply energy back to the national grid. Together with our broader portfolio of sustainable energy projects, it supports our business goals and reinforces our commitment to helping the UK achieve its Net Zero carbon target by 2050.

But the benefits of this project extend even further. Our solar farm site will also be home to a crucial element of our infrastructure: a highly secure, third level data server facility. This facility will safeguard ComXo’s critical systems, ensuring resilient service for our clients, even in the face of potential disruptions. The energy generated by the solar farm will contribute to the sustainable operation of this vital facility. Notably, the scale of this project will position ComXo as one of the few non-commercial entities within the county to operate a solar farm of this capacity. This distinction highlights our proactive approach to sustainability and our commitment to investing in a resilient and environmentally responsible future, not only for our organisation but also as a demonstration of leadership within our sector.

This solar farm represents more than just a power source; it is a symbol of ComXo’s values in action. It is a testament to our long-term vision, our dedication to environmental responsibility, and our unwavering commitment to innovation, in service to our clients.

Say it with flowers

ComXo Founder and Managing Director Andrew Try is also Chairman of the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society, run by a team of passionate volunteers.

The society’s charitable remit is to encourage the enjoyment of gardening, nature, cookery and traditional crafts as a community, and something which Andrew is hugely passionate about. Andrew first got involved with the Royal Windsor Flower Show 13 years ago. Although it was a Royal Show founded by Queen Victoria, the show had fallen on hard times and was in danger of being lost.

Slowly, over the last decade, a committed, passionate and skilful group of local Windsor people have resuscitated the show and have created the best boutique Flower Show in the country. Horticultural guru and RWRHS Honorary President Alan Titchmarsh commented

"What you have witnessed here today is the very best of English tradition, in the heart of Windsor countryside!”

More importantly every penny generated by the Royal Windsor Flower Show feeds into the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society’s charitable fund that works with homeless charity Centrepoint, to springboard young disenfranchised people into the gardening and landscaping industries. The society also supports the schools gardening initiative.

This year ComXo proudly sponsored The King’s Garden, the great showpiece maze at the centre of the event. The garden was designed and produced by Chelsea Flower Show legends Alan Williams and Mark Gregory, and reflects our new King’s passions and celebrate this new Carolean age.

The tale of the show’s revival, its hard-won success and its focus on sustainability, the circular economy, and as a charity that is changing people lives, aligns perfectly with ComXo’s values.

Andrew says of the show's success:

"ComXo are proud to support an event which has been reinvigorated and with the investment of time, money and passion, helped to create a show with purpose and in doing so changed lives for the better in our community."

Why is sponsorship of the Kings Garden so important to ComXo?

  • We’re passionate about actively supporting our local communities with virtuous circles
  • The funds raised from the show’s success enable the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society to provide charitable support to others.
  • It brings together people with a shared love of nature.
  • This year’s ‘Kings Garden’ designed by award winning Alan Williams of Landform UK, is a glorious celebration of our new King and his love of the environment.
  • The garden design uses recycled and sustainable materials which aligns with our own commitment to looking after our planet.

The show took place in Windsor Great Park where ComXo guests and some of our team celebrated in a shared love of all things community and gardening.
