ComXo's Strategic Investment in Renewable Energy

At ComXo, our commitment to responsible business practices and technological advancement is paramount. As a privately held organisation, we possess the agility to strategically invest in initiatives that align with our core values. Today, we are pleased to announce a significant project that underscores both our dedication to environmental stewardship and our pursuit of innovation.

Following three years of meticulous planning, ComXo is commencing the installation of a substantial solar farm on land under lease at St Leonard’s Hill in Windsor. This initiative represents a considerable investment , championed by our founder, Andrew Try, whose conviction in the importance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and future-oriented innovation drives our strategic direction.

The initial phase of this significant undertaking started in early May with essential ground clearing operations. These activities will be conducted with stringent environmental protocols to ensure the preservation of the local ecosystem, including the protection of mature trees on the site. Our commitment to minimising ecological impact extends to the construction methods employed, such as using screw pile foundations in lieu of conventional concrete structures, thereby reducing our carbon footprint during the installation phase.

The installation process, anticipated to span four weeks, will be overseen by a dedicated project manager to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to timelines. Upon completion, the solar farm will comprise 184 high-performance photovoltaic panels. This system will offset 14.28 tonnes of CO₂ annually and has the capability to supply energy back to the national grid. Together with our broader portfolio of sustainable energy projects, it supports our business goals and reinforces our commitment to helping the UK achieve its Net Zero carbon target by 2050.

But the benefits of this project extend even further. Our St Leonard’s Hill site will also be home to a crucial element of our infrastructure: a highly secure, third level data server facility. This facility will safeguard ComXo’s critical systems, ensuring resilient service for our clients, even in the face of potential disruptions. The energy generated by the solar farm will contribute to the sustainable operation of this vital facility. Notably, the scale of this project will position ComXo as one of the few non-commercial entities within the county to operate a solar farm of this capacity. This distinction highlights our proactive approach to sustainability and our commitment to investing in a resilient and environmentally responsible future, not only for our organisation but also as a demonstration of leadership within our sector.

This solar farm represents more than just a power source; it is a symbol of ComXo’s values in action. It is a testament to our long-term vision, our dedication to environmental responsibility, and our unwavering commitment to innovation, in service to our clients.
